Our specialists in education are ready to help you!

When our organization started to develop projects and other activities in order to meet its objectives, it was based, mostly, on the knowledge, expertise and relationships of the founders, taking into account that more than ten years these were involved and have activated in NGO`s area.
Thanks to the trainings they attended and to the activities they performed during their involvment in many projects of other NGOs or institutions, they gained experience and expertise in many fields related to NGO`s area but also in other fields.
Eager to be as good as possible, they continued to improve their skills, to develop their knowledge for be able to write applications, to implement projects and to obtain the most results of their work, all these for meet Vox Civica mission: to improve the lives of the disadvantaged people, making that the smile to appear, too, on the faces of these people.
Beneath, here are some of the fields where we can help and support you, in a professional way.

Most of activities of Vox Civica in the last ten years were dedicated to educational activities for students belonging to vulnerable groups.

As a former teacher, the legal representative of Vox Civica knows very well the issues that children from poor families are facing, particularly Roma students.

Thus, when a educational call was open he considered our duty to apply in order to atract money for helping these poor students.

We provide through our projects activities of „after school” type for such children, also, for the young and adult people who did not graduate the mandatory studies, we give them support for accessing the „Second chance program” and many other activities in the benefit of people in vulnerable groups.

As well, we are able to draft curriculas, perform extracurricular activities, to achieve surveys among students and teachers, to develop activities of „After school” type, we know very well the Romanian education legislation etc;

Vox Civica has expertise and experience for providing non-formal and informal school activities, both for pupils, students, young adult as well as for adult people. Our organization works with professionals in education with a rich experience in organizing and implementing such activities with very good results for the beneficiaries.

As well we can assess the skills and the abilities gained in an informal or non-formal way, during the current daily activities of the people even if they do not have any kind of school education or a professional background. We are able to make that thanks to the using of Competence Balance, according to the accreditated French model of skills and abilities evaluation.

During last ten years, Vox Civica implemented four projects which had as objective to diminute the dropout within a couple of schools in Buzău county. So for the implementation of „the after school” activities we organized all the necessary steps like drafting curriculum, hiring teachers, organizing the schedule of activities, monitoring and assessement of these activities. The results were very good both for the students as well for the schools where the level of dropout was decreased at an acceptable level.

Such programs we implemented having as beneficiaries students who have family difficult situation and need help in order to prepare their lessons and to spends their free time through extra curricular activities, lead by teachers from the school. Such activities are not regulated at national level but they can be implemented besides all the schools if they have available spaces and funds for pay the teachers and to provide for the students a lunch or other foods, during their stay. There are, also, private „After School” programs, organized outside the schools, payed, but only for the families who want that.

Vox Civica collaborate with some schools in Buzău county in order to identify young people or adult people who want to complete their school studies, even they never have been in school they or gave up to school without graduate the mandatory school.

In this case, when a group of minimum fifteen people express their will to participate in a such program, we propose to the school directions to form a class and to start the Second Chance program.

The benefit for the students is they finish two years schoolin only one year, so they are able to graduate much more early. The following types of actions and/or a combination of them may qualify for financing (non-exhaustive list)

The „Second Chance” Programs are dedicated to the people who did not manage to finalize their mandatory education. So, for this kind of people, having sixteen or fourty, the educational system provide the possibility of continuing the studies by this program and they can obtain a diploma. The participants can graduate two classes in one year, so it is an advantage (If you need only a class for obtain a diploma, you have to graduate an entire school year). The attendance to the courses is mandatory and if they have many lack they can repeat the school year. For that, they must contact us in order to explain for them in detail the procedures and the school institutions which organize such courses. (Please, take account not all schools have such courses).

This approach of the Ministry of Education concerning the increasing the level of access in the superior levels of education for the roma student who graduated the mandatory school, started in 1998 by allocating special places for Roma students, everywhere in Romania, both in secondary school and higher education.

For that, Roma students have to present a recomendation form a Roma organization which confirm they belong to Roma minority. In this case, Vox Civica is accreditated to issue such recomendation and we are available to issue such documents to all students who are native Roma or belong to mixed families.

Thus, Roma students have more chances to access in secondary schools or in faculties due to this affirmative measures promoted by the Ministry of Education.

Since when the Ministry of Education has allocated for the young Roma who graduated both of secondary school or high school, special places to the high schools or in universities, in Romania was formed an elite of Roma graduated people. For that, the students must be Roma or from mixed families, to recognize and assume their ethnicity and to present an attestation of this, from a Roma recognized organization. In this way, they participate to the competition only with Roma students and have more many chances to be admitted in the high school or universities.

Our organization helped  many young people, particularly who belong to vulnerable groups, with focus on students, in order to participate to the selection and to obtain schoolarships from various donors, public and private, like Roma Education Fund, National Agency for Roma, various ambassies in Bucharest etc.

Theses students have to contact us and we give them a recommendation and a statement they belong to Roma minority, as well as help for drafting their application (an essay about they and their minority). We continue, as well to support them during their courses and even after the graduation.

In order to meet the needs of young people who want to continue their studies, Vox Civica can keep you up to date with all kinds of accessible scholarships, especially for young people from disadvantaged groups, but also with scholarships available for young people wishing to study abroad.
What do you have to do? Please, contact us at least 5 months before the end of the 12th grade, for the youngsters who did not gratuated yet, and in the months of March or April, for the youngsters who already graduated (for the academic year for which you apply), on contacts available on the site and we will give you all the necessary help and information.
