Taking into account our recognized activity in the field of vulnerable groups, Vox Civica applied, on SALTO- YOUTH Platform, in order to participate to the workshop „Under the Same Roof” organized in Bucharest by the SALTO-YOUTH.
SALTO-YOUTH is a network of eight Resource Centres working on European priority areas within the youth field. As part of the European Commission’s Training Strategy, SALTO-YOUTH provides non-formal learning resources for youth workers and youth leaders and organises training and contact-making activities to support organisations and National Agencies (NAs) within the frame of the European Commission’s Erasmus+ Youth programme and beyond.
„Under the Same Roof” was a stakeholder seminar on cross-sectoral cooperation for young people with fewer opportunities, notably Roma youth, in order to enable their active involvement and integration in society, having as main theme the cross-sectoral cooperation on inclusion, with an emphasis on issues faced by young Roma.
The general aim of the event was to promote sustainable cross-sectoral cooperation for young people with fewer opportunities in order to enable their active involvement and integration in society.
In this context, the most important objectives of the workshop have been the following:
– to explore strengths and weaknesses of cross-sectoral approaches targeting young people with fewer opportunities, notably Roma youth;
– to exchange ways of working together and methods of intervention in inclusion of young people;
– to get to know different realities and sharing good practices in cross-sectoral work with young people;
– to stimulate the development of cross-sectoral projects for young people with fewer opportunities, notably Roma youth within the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme.

Within this event was explored the cooperation between youth work and other sectors (formal education, employment, health, housing, police, social and private sectors, among others) in the process of social inclusion.
A particular attention was paid to Roma inclusion being one of the priority areas in the work programmes of the seminar organisers – the Romanian Erasmus+ NA and the SALTO Inclusion RC.
During the 2,5 day programme of the workshop were combined elements of experience and good practice sharing, inputs from external experts, networking and other capacity-building measures (e.g. Erasmus+) in inclusion.
